Fort Adams:Newport

IMG_2783Sometimes I forget that I live in one of the most beautiful places in the East Coast the world. A spontaneous trip down Ocean Drive to Fort Adams via the Jack Wills Land Rover left me with a beyond gorgeous sunset that I am glad I did not miss. I do have to say I love little Rhody.

Treasure Hunt: Nantucket

Yes, you read that right. Treasure Hunt. While in Nantucket, the sun only made a small appearance, leaving Kirsten, Tegan and I a few days of shopping. However 3 girls can only shop so much (I know, who would have thought we could get tired of shopping?) So, while looking for something to do, we stopped into Jack Wills Nantucket to find some friends I had met while all the JW seasonnaires were in Newport. So, naturally we went in to see what to do on the rainy island, when you are completely over-shopped. What we left with was a Treasure hunt. The map included Lily Pond, a little hidden nature reserve, the best tacos on the island from Tacos Tacos, a secret candy shop (that I have to keep a secret), a ‘happy place’ and the picture-ques dock side. I must say this was a perfect day to end our vacation!

Take a look at our adventure:

The map that led the adventure, graciously made by Nantucket seasonnaire himself, Red Rainy. The map was hand-drawn on a book titled “They’re a Weird Mob”, he said it suited us. We agreed!

Our first find was the beautiful Lily Pond, which is hidden away slightly outside of town. The pond was over-grown with greenery and a rickety wooden trail ran through the pond leading us on a winding path.

Kirsten and I happily flocking through Lily Pond.

The next stop was a little harder to find. There was no indication of what this secret spot was we needed some help. Finally, we got some hints and we found ourselves walking down a grass path to a quite nature reserve area. It was a secluded, peaceful nook off a busy street with a tiny pond, with lily pads and frogs. While enjoying the seclusion, we decidedwe needed a photo. Thank you self timer (yes, we are that lame).

The next stop, lunch! This was a true treasure found on the map! Tacos Tacos is a small take-away restaurant, where you sit outside and enjoy.  I have officially had my first fish taco, and I can honestly say it will not be my last! So glad this was on our map!

Kirsten and Tegan enjoying their fish tacos and guacamole, yum!

After we refueled with food, we were off to find the next X on the map. We happily found “a happy place” which I mentioned here. A happy place to sit and enjoy the view, which I don’t think I could ever get tired of.

Our last X was the secret candy shop. The shop was filled with candy and chocolates from floor to ceiling. And, if the shop wasn’t cute enough already, it is run by little kids! This is definitely worth finding if ever on Nantucket, and I can’t tell you where it is, but, I do have a small hint. When in search, ask some of the local kids, they will be sure to point you in the right direction!

And finally, our prize for finding all the X’s…..Nantucket Party Pants!!!!
(thanks to our wonderful models, Kirsten and Tegan!)

Pass it to me

How incredibly cute is this Jack Wills passport cover??
As soon as I saw the pink vintage inspired floral design I knew my passport would be well dressed on it’s trip to Rome.
Needless to say I didn’t have to think twice before making this purchase.

Work hard…

(top photo: the Jack Wills company car, aka ‘the landy’ and a beautiful view of Newport. second photo: Co-worker Jake and I handing out goodie bags. third photo: PARTY PANTS, need I say more? last photo: me, Josh, who is sadly back in the UK, and my manager Poppy)

…and play harder. It seems like the past month has been a blur and my job at Jack Wills has slowly taken over my life, although I can’t complain. Last month I was promoted to supervisor and spending my days hard at work in the store and all the JW events. The complaints you usually hear from others working in retail you will never her from me. The store can’t be busier with the summer season in full blossom, my co-workers could not be any better (or funnier), the customers are great to chat with( and sell to, haha) and the staff discount isn’t half bad either, needless to say, my whole wardrobe consists of Jack Wills.  I can not wait to see what else this summer has to hold with the JW crew, I just know it will be a lot of hard work and even more fun.

JW Spring Break

Work hard and play harder. I do believe that is a Jack Wills’ motto and if it’s not it is certainly implied. Last Saturday I spent my night with other JW employees hosting the Jack Wills Spring Break party in the Newport store. We turned the store into full spring break mode, there were surfboards for decorations, a JW beer pong table and also an amazing tiki bar (fully stocked, I might add), which “lifeguards” (my two managers) served as bartenders; which was quite hilarious.  Not only did I get to spend the night drinking and partying with my friends, I got paid! I can say I absolutely love me job.

My Go To

For the past  few weeks this Jack Wills outfit has been my go to, when too tired or too lazy to find something to wear, this dress has come in handy. It is so simple to throw on and walk out the door. If you see me around in the next month, you will be sure to see this outfit at least once.

25 Days

And the count down begins! This year I am more excited than usual for Christmas. Bring on the Christmas music, movies, decorations and cookies! This year I am dedicated to being 100% full of Christmas spirit and joy!
This year on Christmas morning I have decided to go down memory lane and get a set of P.J.’s and I could not be more excited about it, now, the only problem is deciding between all the adorable P.J. sets at Jack Wills!

Jack Wills

Jack Wills, University Outfitters, Fabulously British.
I first walked into a Jack Wills store while in Bath, England and fell in love with the extremely preppy British clothing. Now instead of dreaming of this ‘fabulously British’ store I can go and shop there; seeing as a Jack Wills is in Newport, RI. I will be spending all my money their for a new fall preppy collegiate wardrobe for fall!
