There are certainly things I miss from back home, American coffee, hot showers, my mom’s cooking, my comfy bed, the English language, my car, bagels, dryers,…….just to name a few. But I can honestly say I am seriously dreading missing Halloween. I am massively craving some candy corn, apple pie, funny costumes, pumpkin carving and apple cider. Although I love Italy I know missing some of my favorite holidays will be a tough one, don’t even get me started on Thanksgiving. I know it will be a sad thought missing my favorite times of year with my family and friends, but I can tell you I would never give up the opportunity I have had to travel here and everywhere else. In the meantime, these odd, creepy vintage photographs will have to suffice with the Halloween cravings I am having.
If only today were actually cancelled and I could stay in my sleepy slumber state all day. However, today is filled with studying, planning, research, packing, class, some more studying, and some more planning. The only thing that keeps me going is knowing that four days from now I will be on a plane to Ireland, then to Spain, then to Cinque Terre. Yes, I know how awful is my life?! I can honestly say I don’t think I have ever been more excited. But until my plane takes off I have a lot to do!
Happy Monday lovelies!
Hope your week isn’t as stressful as mine! xx
Now, I’m not usually one for camouflage unless you are playing a serious game of hide and seek, but with the shiny studded accents on the pockets and the tiny gold snap buttons, there is no way I would want to hide from anyone while wearing this. Thanks to Zara I have added this camo piece into my wardrobe on a whim and have found myself wearing more than I thought.
I am completely ecstatic knowing that my family’s plane lands in Rome this afternoon. I will be able to spend the weekend running around The Vatican, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, making them eat as much gelato as they can possibly eat and showing them all the hidden spots I have managed to find in Rome. I am so excited to see them and spend time with them, even if I do have to be their tour guide! I am jittery with excitement to be reunited with them tonight!
Sometime it is the little things in life that can make your day that much brighter, like having a good hair day, talking to your best friends back home, or getting more then 15 likes on an instagram. The other day I stumbled upon the best cannolis in a tiny sweets shop in a hidden piazza. This cannoli made my day so much brighter and a whole lot sweeter. Luckily the shop is a bit of a hike from my apartment, so it will prevent me from eating cannolis for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

With my mind in over drive the past week. I made Sunday my own holiday to clear my head and take a stroll through the amazing city I call home, Roma. Although some may argue that walking around downtown is not at all peaceful, I would have to disagree. Strolling with no exact destination and no time constrains I found myself blissfully happy and unaware of the obnoxious crowds, speeding scooters and annoying tourists. Here are just a few of the snapshots I took while walking…
Piazza del Popolo
The Spanish Steps
Trevi Fountain (every time I go I throw a coin in and make a wish)
